Gallery G proudly presents Colour Code by Bose Krishnamachari on 15th to 21st July 2017

The gallery g is playing host to the first solo exhibition, ‘Colour Code’, by master painter Bose Krishnamachari from 15th to 22nd July, 2017 at its home base on Lavelle Road. The show will profile the artistic evolution of Bose Krishnamachari, who is widely acclaimed as the Co-Founder/Curator of India’s First Art Biennale.

“Abstracts in splashy brights, that’s undeniably the mark of Bose Krishnamachari and that’s what Colour Code is all about,” says Gitanjali Maini, Founder Director of gallery g and CEO of The Raja Ravi Varma Heritage Foundation. “It’s an absolute honour to host such an eminent artist at our gallery it’s a privilege of hosting his first ever solo show in the city,” Gitanjali added.

What makes Bose Krishnamachari’s works unique is the vibrant colour palette, which brings forth abstract forms, exuding life and its varied dynamism. Various hues speak out from the canvas as Bose Krishnamachari creates a language in colours. “Colours are magical and transformative. They can sculpt things out of something formless or abstract. They are the closest artistic expression of layers and texture of life,” says Bose.

Born in 1963 in Kerala, Bose Krishnamachari studied Painting at the Sir JJ School of Art, Mumbai, and received Masters from the Goldsmiths College, University of London. A versatile artist, Krishnamachari has showcased his works in innumerable exhibitions across the world. His work reflects distinctly in vivid abstract paintings, figurative drawings, sculpture, photography, multimedia installations and architecture. He was also ranked among the top 100 most influential people in contemporary art world by one of the leading British magazine in 2015.

More About Bose Krishnamachari

Bose Krishnamachari is an internationally acclaimed Malayali painter and Artist-Curator based in Mumbai, India. He was a recipient of the award of the Kerala Lalita Kala Akademi (1985), British Council travel award (1993), Mid America Arts Alliance Award (1996), Chales Wallace India Trust Award (1999–2000), Life Time Fellowship Award- Kerala Lalita Kala Academy and was first runner up for the Bose Pacia Prize for Modern Art, New York, 2001. His work comprises vivid abstract paintings, figurative drawings, sculpture, photography, multimedia installations and architecture. Since 1985 he lives and works in Mumbai. Bose is the founder member and President of Kochi Biennale Foundation and Biennale Director of international exhibition of contemporary art, Kochi-Muziris Biennale.

Launched in February 2003 by Gitanjali Maini, ‘gallery g’ is located at Lavelle Road. It was started at a time when Indian art began to witness dramatic growth and new stature in the global market. The gallery is designed to be both an intimate viewing space for the serious collector and investor and as an art exhibition venue. It sets itself apart with its mix of new, established and internationally known painters and artists.
