Re-imagining city’s Public Spaces creatively to bring ART closer to People (within and beyond the region), here comes the third edition of Pune Biennale, a predominant art movement and India’s second biennale. Steered by Pune Biennale Foundation, the event that is gearing up to open for public on January 5, 2017 will run for close to a month along Pune’s landmark J.M Road at locations including Pataleshwar Caves, Balgandharva, Z-Bridge, Jungli Maharaj Temple, PES Modern High School, besides the bustling public gardens, prominent art galleries and shipping containers.

Pune Biennale 2017 will showcase substantial artworks from close to 300 artists of national and international repute in both the flagship and other participatory projects. While the flagship exhibition ‘Habit-co-Habit’ curated by art historian & curator Zasha Colah and art critic Luca Cerizza aims to present different forms in which artists reflect on topics such as cohabitation, adaptation, and assimilation; the participatory projects based on the theme ‘Identity and Self’ are specifically designed for engaging with the local community and showcasing cutting edge contemporary artworks through diverse mediums and forums including displays, installations, workshops, dialogues and seminars.

Over the years with support from Pune Municipal Corporation, educational organizations, and corporates, Pune Biennale has emerged as an institution to create a world-wide cultural identity for the home-city and act as a vehicle for the development of the city, aesthetically at the same time unlocking endless possibilities for the creative community, globally.

Block the dates 5th to 29th January 2017 and get ready to embrace the city’s creativity while connecting with great artists and thinkers from across India and abroad – in a not-to-be-missed celebration of visual arts, architecture, performance, installation art and much more!
