Gallery Art Motif presents exhibition of “Drawings, Paintings and Ceramics” by artists Madhvi Subrahmanian, Neha Lavingia and Sheetal Gattani

Neha Lavingia

The closest analogy to Neha Lavingia’s paintings will be that of the Zen form of poetry known as Haiku. They are precise, evocative and brief, the poetics of the minimal. In the push, pull and shove of life, how often do we take the time to stand, to stare, to wonder, to feel, to experience.

Sheetal Gattani

Peeling out the paper, layering it with charcoal ..erasing … repeating the process several times has been her approach to this body of work .. it started as an inquiry to what is “drawing “… is it simply the medium that decides … realized that it is not … but not found the answer yet ….

Madhvi Subrahmanian

Madhvi Subrahmanian continues with her exploration of and reflection on the urban environment and its disconnect with nature, as she did in her recent solo show “Mapping Memory”. She presents two of her works – “Mappa Mundi” – mapping the routes of her daily journeys, and a third work “Dilli” constructed with cones as markers of time. Her work titled “Blue Print” juxtaposes the city map with a house directing attention to the deep human desire for congregation and dwelling. The “Window” series explores the key architectural component that gives its inhabitants the connection to the world outside.

The exhibition will be on view from 13th January till 24th February 2018
Time: 10 am to 6 pm
Address: Gallery Art Motif, A-1 178, Safdarjung Enclave, Fourth Floor, New Delhi 29
