Project AMSOE is an inter-disciplinary arts festival conceptualized by young enthusiast Pratiksha Jain. It will be a melting pot of emerging and established artist, innovators, entrepreneurs, experienced activists, thinkers and do-ers. The festival will include works ranging from performance art, sonic art, public-interventions, social and ecological justice projects, installations, film, interactive work, poetry and more.
Starting from the first weekend of December, the festival will come alive every weekend at the Warehouse, Dhan Mill Compound where more than 65 artists and collaborators from various cutting age mediums will be coming together and opening up a wide spectrum of opportunities for each other.
Pratiksha Jain, Founder, Project AMSOE says, “Creativity doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Anything innovative, anything inventive is a result of multiple chances, combinations and coincidences. You take your knowledge and skill-set and merge it with your environment, and this magnificent symbiosis is what Project AMSOE is all about. We aim at creating, to inspire. We aim at collaborating, to evolve.”
During the course of the festival, a range of interesting installations and artworks will be on display by young contemporary artists like Shivangi Ladha created bodies of work which explore the various correlations between spaces and different forms of perceived spaces; Renu Bariwal’s ‘Transformation’ highlights the contrast and contradictions, of what one sees, and the reality, remains the key concern of her work; Namrata Chhabria’s canvases focus on imaginary archetypes of identity – mind structures and value systems that result from the broader means of sustenance like food, shelter and clothing; street artist POPA created a Graffiti work titled ‘Maan ki Baat’ to express and address as well as to comment on the ongoing socio-political issues; Mohan Jangid created a site specific art work called ‘Black & White’ expressing their feelings on demonetization; Venus Thokchom and Nelson Thangjam’s installation of veils and the spaces created in between, playing with the optics at the venue and Pawas Aakrsh experiments with new technological mediums has created images, motion graphics and creative form.
